The Village House is a newly renovated five bedroom, two and a half bath home in Bethel Village. Mason Street is located
adjacent to the
Bethel Commons and is a quiet residential area of fine homes. This is a most desirable, in town location only a short walk to the Bethel Inn, The Bethel Hill Commons, area shops, restaurants and pubs.
History tells us that the house was moved to its present location to serve as quarters for the
carriage drivers of those staying at the Bethel Inn. The Village House is only a short walk
to golf and cross-country skiing at the Bethel Inn and Country Club or a short drive to skiing at Sunday River and Mount Abram. The Mountain Explorer, provides free winter transportation to
and from Sunday River and local businesses and stops at the end of the street. Your Host is a PSIA certified level 3 Ski Pro and staff trainer at Sunday River. Private coaching is available and should be arranged in advance with Perfect Turn at Sunday River.

The Village House is tastefully decorated with a
pleasant mix of antiques and Maine furnishings. The kitchen is fully set-up with a dishwasher, microwave, toaster,
coffee pot, slow cooker, and plenty of service for 12 guests. There is a washer and dryer in the 1/2 bath to refresh towels and dry out wet gear from a damp day in the outdoors. The comfortable living area has two full couches and two rocking
chairs to allow for plenty of seating for large groups. There is also a gas woodstove for apre ski ambiance. There is a telephone, 2 cable TV's, DVD and a VCR .
A glassed in porch provides a winter airlock and a place to remove wet or sandy shoes and during the summer, an outdoor retreat from the Maine
black flies. At the rear of the house there is a open air porch providing a little
more privacy and a retreat from the hot summer sun. The house has an air conditioner in the kitchen dining area that is open to the living room.

 The Master Bedroom

The master bedroom is on the first
floor and has an adjacent bath with oversized shower. There is a queen
sized bed and night table a chair and a dresser. Also you will find a writing desk as well as a
cable and telephone connection for those that need an internet
connection to that other world. Neighborhood unsecured WIFI is usually available.

Tucked away in the back of the house
is a pine paneled bedroom with two twin beds and a table and chairs ideal for
morning coffee or use as a quiet game or card table in the evenings. This
is a favorite room of many guests as it has mountain views in the winter
and is bright and airy with large windows on all sides. In the summer with
the windows open you may even think you were a part of the outdoors.

Guestroom One

In the upstairs there is a large
bedroom set up for the kids. There is a double bed and two twin beds. A
rocking chair and night tables as well as built-in storage shelves and a
large closet complete the room. The big room provides plenty of unused
floor space for lounging or playing games. We have provided cards, a
cribbage board, puzzles and other games to compliment what you may bring
with you. A second TV and VCR will give the kids a place to hang out away from the
main living area and the adult crowd.

At the top of the stairs there is a
spacious full bath. On the other side of the house are two more bedrooms.
The front guest room has a queen bed, a crib and an antique dresser, night table and chair.
The back room is smaller and has a full size bed as well as an
antique dresser. This is a perfect place for that older teenager or single
adult that joins your party. This property's maximum accommodation is for 12 people plus the crib.
